This dependency usually doesn't benefit Linux distros with requests library configured to use system certificate already. And is not packaged by most distros. Making it optional will make most Linux users' installation much easier.
* Improve update interval of timer display
Timer calculation frequency increased and aligned with new card apparition.
* Update CONTRIBUTORS
* Update timer interval to 0.333 sec
* Restore timer to 1 sec
- Restoring timer to 1sec value as it is not necessary to increase the frequency.
- Adding a time update directy after new card is displayed so that the timer display immediatly restarts to 0.
The respective *.ftl file keys `actions-forget-card` and `qt-accel-forget` will keep the same name to prevent having to force a retranslation for other languages, only the string value was changed
* - update remove decks function to return names of all deleted decks
- update protobuf message to display deck names
- update python files to receive message in the frontend.
- add message template to ftl

* qt/aqt/__init__.py: Skip GL library workaround for FreeBSD
The workaround to load explicitly "libGL.so.1" isn't required for
FreeBSD and leads to segmentation faults if used in environments that
have nVidia drivers loaded.

* Refactor and try to simplify log module
* Remove demo code
* Refactor and update add-on manager logging API
* Simplify writing unit tests for add-ons that use logging
Loggers are likely to be also employed in non UI code, so it seems like a good idea to decouple them from requiring a running Anki instance to work (thus freeing add-on authors from the need to mock Anki APIs in their tests).
* Fix arguments and drop obsolete inline instructions
Lets add a section on logging to the add-on docs instead
* Drop unnecessary import
* Supply logging basicConfig force option by default
Until we change the module import order and thus ensure that `log` is always evaluated before third-party dependencies have a chance to initialize the root logger, `force` is non-optional.
* Fix formatting and type errors
* Restore mediasrv type ignore comments
* Add note on prefix API stability
* Consistently use addon_from_module in new code
* Use logFolder rather than profileFolder
* Adjust method name for PEP8
* Change loggerDict access path, satisfying pylint
* Drop unused import and use lazy % formatting
* lint fix
* refactor .log_folder -> .addon_logs
store anki.log under logdir
* Fix method name (dae)
* Disable file-based logging in the backend (dae)
I have never found this useful, and it logs nothing by default, so
creating/opening the file is a waste. Removing it also ensures that
addon_logs() is solely used for add-ons.

* CONTRIBUTORS: Add myself to the contributors list
* Add support for offline builds
Downloading files during build time is a non-starter for FreeBSD ports
(and presumably for other *BSD ports and some Linux distros as well).
In order to still be able to build Anki successfully, two new
environment variables have been added that can be set accordingly:
* NO_VENV: If set, the Python system environment is used instead of
a venv. This is necessary if there are no usable Python wheels for a
platform, e.g. PyQt6.
* OFFLINE_BUILD: If set, the git repository synchronization (translation
files, build hash, etc.) is skipped.
To successfully build Anki offline, following conditions must be met:
1. All required dependencies (node, Python, rust, yarn, etc.) must be
present in the build environment.
2. The offline repositories for the translation files must be
copied/linked to ftl/qt-repo and ftl/core-repo.
3. The Python pseudo venv needs to be setup:
$ mkdir out/pyenv/bin
$ ln -s /path/to/python out/pyenv/bin/python
$ ln -s /path/to/protoc-gen-mypy out/pyenv/bin/protoc-gen-mypy
4. Create the offline cache for yarn and use its own environment
variable YARN_CACHE_FOLDER to it:
YARN_CACHE_FOLDER=/path/to/the/yarn/cache
$ /path/to/yarn install --ignore-scripts
5. Build Anki:
$ /path/to/cargo build --package runner --release --verbose --verbose
$ OFFLINE_BUILD=1 \
NO_VENV=1 \
${WRKSRC}/out/rust/release/runner build wheels

When legacy addons add note types, they automatically add the note type to the collection models. This commit adds a list refresh along this path of execution to ensure the gui is updated with the newly added model.

It's very helpful having a sub-permille precision in a progress
indicator, percent-precision or at most a tenth of a percent should be
sufficient for any indicator.
But in particular the compute-retention progress has 10 steps, i.e. the progress
increases in 10%-intervals (10%, 20%, ...), it *cannot* have sub-decimal
progress-percentages, see 2d5b19b494/src/optimal_retention.rs (L365-L368). So there integer percents should be
enough, everything else is misleading.
The compute-weights progress is currently (as of beta-2) not showing up at all.
Maybe if the bug is fixed it can show sub-percent percentages, so for know I changed that
to 0.1% precision. But I think integer percentages should be fine here as well,
so upon request I can fix that.
Also see my comment on this problem in https://forums.ankiweb.net/t/anki-23-10-beta/34912/39.

* Add ability to tab to DuplicateLink
The change that allows the DuplicateLink to be tabbed to is the removal of the `tabindex`. The other changes are to make the link only appear as wide as the text, otherwise the tab outline appears around the whole `<span>`, which makes it look weird.

* Fix sync client ignoring directories
Current implementation of the sync client does not properly send requests to a
self-hosted sync server if the URL has directories.
If the self-hosted sync URL is `https://example.org/foo/bar/`, Anki is expected
to send requests to `https://example.org/foo/bar/sync/hostKey`. Instead, it will
discard the directories and wrongly send requests to
`https://example.org/sync/hostKey`.
Fixes: e5d5d1d ("Fix panic with invalid sync server URL with port")

* fix stats calendar daylight saving time offset bug
Previously, when computing counts for the calendar in the stats menu, it was assumed that days had 86,400 seconds. However, this assumption does not hold true on the day when daylight savings occurs.
* add self to CONTRIBUTORS and about.py
* fix stats calendar anki day to calendar day mapping
Since Anki days don't necessarily roll over at midnight, mapping an Anki day into a calendar day needs to have a linear shift applied. By providing the frontend with access to the scheduler's rollover hour, we can account for this offset.
* Don't download nodejs if NODE_BINARY is set
Some build environments, such as nixpkgs, restrict network access and
thus would prefer to not download anything at all. Setting PROTOC_BINARY

should be true for nodejs
* Allow setting YARN_BINARY for the build system

When a user clicks on the table row in the deck list (neither click on the deck
link nor on the options menu) while the shift key is pressed,
then set the deck in that table row as the current deck.
This gives the user some quick feedback and enables the user to easily create
subdecks (as it automatically fills the add deck dialog with the deck name of
the selected deck) and to create notes belonging to the selected deck.
* Allow burying cards in browser
This code is based on existing "toggle suspend" command in browser.
- Adds "toggle bury" command to browser cards menu.
- Adds "browsing-toggle-bury" to core translation. Only english-language.
- Adds "buried" coloring to rows for buried cards in browser table.
Not yet done:
- Keyboard shortcut for "toggle bury" action.
- Non-english translations.
* Add contributor as requested in CONTRIBUTORS.
* Fix formatting in browser_table.rs.
* Add keyboard shortcut to "toggle bury" command.
This adds keyboard shortcut "ctrl-shift-j" to "toggle bury" command in
browser cards menu.

* Add ellipsis prop to LabelButton; fix buttons

* Create a prop to toggle ellipsis in LabelButton.svelte
Thanks to @hikaru-y: using "white-space: nowrap;" and "overflow: hidden;" together even when "text-overflow: ellipsis" is not needed can be problematic.
This fixes the text centering on deck options's SaveButton.
* Toggle ellipsis in NotetypeSelector.svelte's leftmost LabelButton
Without it, the button can expand indefinitely depending on the previous Note Type's name.

* Fix Windows dark mode detection: OpenKey can fail
#1497 introduced reading hardcoded Windows Registry key, which assumes key exists. This is not true on Windows 7. Later addition of `try-except` block missed that OpenKey might fail.
This fix allows launching current version of Anki on Windows 7 when installed with Pip with the modified Python 3.9 installation.

Calling `moveCaretToEnd()` when `richText` is empty will cause the first keystroke of
ibus-based input methods with candidates to goes double. For example, if you
type "a" it becomes "aa". This problem exists in many linux distributions.
When `richText` is empty, there is no need to place the caret, just return
as a workaround.
* Scroll stats to top when exporting (#1114)
It's obviously a bit of a "hacky" solution, since it's slightly jarring for users to scroll down, click export, then find themselves all the way at the top again, but it's somewhat less confusing than wondering why your PDF is broken :-)
* Clarified comment in stats.py (#1114)
* Apply scrolling fix to new stats screen, not legacy stats (dae)
Also wait for JS callback before saving the PDF, as JS is executed
asynchronously.
* Extend maximum answer time...
Previously the time allowed to answer a question was capped at 10 minutes.
While this makes sense for fact recall, it limits the utility of Anki when
used for solving problems that can take more time to work through. This
extends the maximum answer time to 2 hours, which seems to be a reasonable
upper limit for solving a math or algorithm question.
* Add warning when max answer time exceeds 10 minutes
* Move warning below input field
* Truncate long deck names to match AnkiWeb behavior
Prevent long deck name from obscuring deck stats in main deck browser - match behavior at https://ankiweb.net/decks/ for handling long deck names (truncate name)
* Fix formatting
* Update CONTRIBUTORS

* Rename toLocaleXXX functions
* toLocaleNumber -> localizedNumber

* Localize more numbers
Uses locale-based rounding for more numbers now
* Localize graph axis ticks
* Fix future-due graph tooltip
* avoid div by zero (dae)
Ignoring NaN in localizedNumber() could potentially mask a mistake
in the future - better to explicitly handle the invalid case at the
source instead.
Wikimedia Commons has pronunciation recordings with .opus extension.
Anki is able to play such files, but until now adding them required
changing the extension to .ogg or some other supported one.
Also sort the audio extensions list.
Fixesankitects/help-wanted#18. Height of webview should be the height
of the contents inside it. Previously, scale factors increased fixed
height of the container webview, thus creating empty space (e.g.
at 200% scaling, height of webview was double the height of the inner
HTML page). Now height of webview is always the height of the contained
element.
I tried to commit those files with lf endings but git doesn't appear to want to commit those changes.
I guess I'd have to make a minor change to the each file and I'm relutant to do that.
The only dependency which required nightly compilers was pyo3, which
supports stable Rust (1.39.0 and later) since version 0.11.0. Supporting
stable Rust makes it easier to package Anki for distributions. No other
code changes were required.
